CTIHE Symposium in Schools Sports Development – Sports Management Perspectives

In order to promote active lifestyle and school sports development in secondary schools, "CTIHE Symposium in Schools Sports Development – Sports Management Perspectives" was held in the HKCT Jockey Club Undergraduate Campus on 15 June 2018.

We were honoured to have Ms Nancy Wong, the Chief Curriculum Development Officer (Physical Education) of the Education Bureau, giving us a guest speech. Audience from various sectors including physical education teachers, school principals, National Sports Associations (NSAs), Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), and individuals from the community joined the symposium. Topics covered and discussed in the symposium included physical education development in schools, inter-schools competitions development and gifted education, sports psychology and schools sports development, and sports management education in schools sport development.

Professor Edward CHOW, the Head of Department of Education thanked the guest speakers and welcomed all the participants on the event day. Almost a hundred of participants from Sports industry and secondary schools participated in the Symposium.

 

Hong Kong Sports Development Lecture Series

Department of Education of CTIHE holds 6 lectures of the Hong Kong Sports Development Lecture Series. Guest speakers, including Mountaineering Expert, Mr. Chung Kin Man, MH, Former Hong Kong cycling champion, Mr. Hung Chung Yam, JP, Sports Programme Host and Artist, Mr. Chan On Lap, Brian, Former Director of the Hong Kong Sports Institute, Dr. Dennis Whitby, Former Chief Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Amateur Athletics Federation, Mr. Lee Chi Wing, Eric, Head of Surveillance and Epidemiology Branch of the Department of Health, Dr. Regina Ching, are invited to share their point of view in respect of their expertise to the students, in order to further their professional knowledge and breed them as sports management specialist.
